Sept calendar
Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority. Unfortunately, we have had two incidents over the past year regarding students' bikes and cars while crossing the street. To prevent further accidents, we are implementing new safety protocols for all students crossing at crosswalks on campus. Effective immediately, all students riding bikes or scooters must dismount and walk across the crosswalks. We have already met with all bike and scooter riders to communicate this new rule. Additionally, our maintenance and transportation department are working together to ensure new signage will be placed at all crosswalks around the school campus to remind students of this requirement as soon as possible. We appreciate your support in reinforcing these new safety measures with your children to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Plan to substitute teach?
In response to your feedback from our communications survey last spring and the overwhelming desire for organization of platforms, we’ve streamlined our communication for all schools into ONE PLATFORM! Say “hello” to two-way messaging and classroom announcements in the PG Tigers app! With the new Rooms feature, our district app just got even better. Parents and guardians, check your email for instructions on how to sign up and access these exciting new features. Our goal is for you to be able to get familiar with the app before school begins. Please know that students grade levels and course schedules will update later for the 2024-2025 school year.

PGJH Families: In accordance with State Law, during the month of April the PGSD Nursing staff will be screening 8th grade students for BMI. Students will be weighed and measured, but will not be told the results. Parents may request the results by submitting a written request. If a guardian/parent objects to the screening, a 4.41F form must be submitted to the student's school (must indicate BMI on form under other). Verbal objections cannot be accepted. Deadline for forms is April 12th. The 4.41F form can be found on the district website by going to pgtigers.org > Menu > Departments+ > Human Resources > Personnel Policies > 2023-2024 > Section 4 > 4.41F - Objections to Physical Examinations or Screenings.pdf. You can return this form to the PGJH office or email to kellye.lamb@pgtigers.org anytime before April 12th. As always, feel free to call the school if you have any questions. Thanks so much!
