Writing Pays Off! Congratulations to Peyton Boliver, whose ELKS Americanism Essay took 1st place in the state! 🏆 Peyton was presented with a first-place certificate and a check for $200.
Each year, Mrs. Ashley's 8th-grade students participate in the Grand Lodge Americanism Essay Contest as part of their classwork. This year’s theme, “What Does Patriotism Mean to Me?” and Peyton’s stood out at the top! His essay has now moved forward for national consideration.
A special shoutout to history teacher Tracie Ashley, who was also recognized with a Certificate of Appreciation from the ELKS. Way to go! 🇺🇸✍️

📣 Attention PGJH families of 7th-8th grade students: On the evenings of Monday, April 14, or Tuesday, April 15, all students and their families will meet with their advisor to discuss their Student Success Plan. These are not traditional Parent-Teacher Conferences. If you'd like to speak with a teacher about grades or behavior, please reach out to them directly by email. Advisors will be contacting families to schedule a time. Questions? Give our office a call. Thank you for partnering with us to support student success! 🐾📘

History Made by the PGJH Band!
Today marked a first for Prairie Grove Junior High—our band attended contest for the very first time! The students set an ambitious goal of earning a Superior (1) or Excellent (2) rating, and they delivered.
On stage, the band was evaluated by three judges and received scores of 1, 2, and 2. In the sight-reading portion, they earned a Superior rating of 1. That’s Excellent and Superior ratings from every judge!
We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and talent these students demonstrated. Way to go, PGJH Band! 🖤💛

Creativity, communication, and a whole lot of spaghetti! 🍝🚛✨ Ms. Terry’s art students took on the challenge of building semi-trucks with just spaghetti and marshmallows—then reflected on the experience in writing. Teamwork never looked so tasty!
