PGJHs 8th grade Honors student, Alex Abshier, and his science teacher, Rachael Smith (both pictured), were given assistance from the USGS on Saturday. Kevin Hubbs allowed Alex to use a device from USGS called a multiparameter water quality sonde that assisted him with his science project testing the water quality of a branch of the Illinois River. This device allowed Alex to test for dissolved oxygen, turbidity, pH, temperature and specific conductivity. A huge thank you to Kevin Hubbs and the USGS for their time and equipment!

We are so grateful and so thankful for all that our teachers do...One week is not enough time to celebrate the impact they are making on the lives of our students.
Over the past year and a half, all PGSD students have had their education affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in one way or another. In an effort to assist our students who may be a little behind in their education due to the pandemic, the PGSD is asking for your help on how we can help these students get back where they need to be academically.

Last night an initial message was sent out on social media to let our community know that the Board voted to make wearing masks optional. To clarify, the option to wear or not wear masks has been given to everybody, staff and students. We still have some staff and students who would feel more comfortable wearing a mask. Although not mandated for anyone to wear a mask, during these trying times I would ask for all to show respect on both sides of the decision that has been made and finish our school year strong!
Go Tigers!
