PGHS Parents – we know tomorrow is a strange day with 9th & 10th graders testing and some juniors and seniors doing mock exams. However, we want to remind everyone that our Advisory time tomorrow afternoon, April 7th is very important. Students will be inputting class choices for next year. Any 9th – 11th grader that misses Advisory without a documented excuse will not be allowed to build their schedule until the last time slot of registration. Virtual students are invited to attend advisory, but it is not required for them. They should look for information and a meeting time coming soon from Mrs. Styles.

Anatomy student held a competition involving who could draw the best human heart. Mrs. Woods, our PGHS Librarian , was the judge. Here are some of the entries and our overall winners!

On Wednesday afternoon (7th), PGHS students will enter their choices for next year's classes. Your student has all the paperwork and information for you to look over and discuss. Students need to bring their completed Registration Plan (pink) with all 8 periods filled and 3 Alternate class choices listed. They also need their student HAC login information. If they don't have their login info they need to contact the office before Wednesday. All information and Advising videos are on the CAP Conference Website: https://sites.google.com/pgtigers.org/pghs-counseling-dept/cap-conferences-2021

All 9th & 10th graders will be taking the required ACT Aspire test tomorrow and Wednesday. It is important that students come to school on time with their chromebook charged. Testing will be finished around lunch time both days. Tuesday afternoon we will have club pictures and Wednesday afternoon students to enter their class choices for next year. Virtual students are invited to stay for both afternoon activities.

With only 8 weeks left in the 2020-2021 school year, the governor has given the school districts the option to not wear masks. Now, with that being said, there are several guidelines a school district must follow to make this determination. We must involve the School Board members, receive input from parents, post amendments to our “Ready for Learning” plan while we also are encouraged to continue to follow ADH guidelines.
Our next School Board meeting will be held April 20, 2021. Up until that point, we will continue the current guidelines which are wearing masks when social distancing of 6 foot can not be maintained. During that meeting I will present to the Board: parent’s in-put, medical practitioners’ in-put from our area, faculty survey and our “Ready For Learning” plan so that we can make the best decision for PGSD. I understand that this can be very controversial with both sides passionate about their views; however, I would ask that all involved respect the decision that will be made on April 20th, for the remainder of the school year.
This parent survey gives an opportunity for parents to offer in-put in how PGSD will end this wild and crazy school year. Responses will not be made public so that we do not cause a divide in our community. I also would ask that we all agree to accept different opinions if our end of year guidelines are not your preference.

Graduation Information:
At this time we are not anticipating having to limit the number of people that can attend for PGHS's graduation outside at Tiger Stadium. However, this could potentially change if the Arkansas Department of Health or Department of Elementary and Secondary Education makes adjustments to the guidelines we are asked to follow. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

Due to the excessive amount of days that were missed due to snow and ice this winter, Prairie Grove Schools will have regular classes on April 23rd and 26th. We understand that some families have already made plans on what was originally planned as virtual school days. If this is the case, then parents can send an absence note, as soon as possible, to their child's school and the absence will be excused. Students will still need to make up any school work in a reasonable amount of time after they return.
