With the chance of winter weather predicted to arrive in our area sometime Tuesday, January 24th, the Prairie Grove School District wants to make the families of our students aware of the possibility of an early release of school that day.

We will monitor the weather throughout the day tomorrow, Tuesday, January 24th.

If winter precipitation starts to fall or is strongly predicted to start before the usual time of school dismissal, the PGSD could run buses and release students early in the afternoon so that all students, teachers, and staff get home safely.

Our goal is to have a full school day on Tuesday, the 24th. However, if the need, due to poor weather conditions, requires us to dismiss school early, we will announce it on local TV stations, our school district website, and the school district’s Twitter and Facebook accounts. Furthermore, if your cell phone is in our computer database, an automated phone call will be sent to you if the announcement for early release is made. Please monitor those sources throughout the day tomorrow to keep current.

We also suggest you discuss with your family a plan should the need arise to have early school dismissal on Tuesday of this week.

Thank you.
