Parents, Guardians, and Staff -

Prairie Grove School District’s top priority at this time is the health and safety of our students, staff, and community.  We are asking that you take the following precautions and recommendations from the Arkansas Department of Health and the Arkansas Department of Education.

  • If you or a close contact (household family member) has traveled from an affected area in the last 14 days AND  has symptoms of COVID-19 (fever, cough, and shortness of breath) please contact your health care provider for further guidance.

  • If you or a close contact (household family member) has traveled from an affected area in the last 14 days AND DO NOT have symptoms of illness, please monitor you and your family member(s) health condition for signs & symptoms of infection (fever, cough, and shortness of breath).  Contact your health care provider for further guidance if symptoms of infection develop.

Local Resources:

  • Washington Regional Medical Center Coronavirus Screening Clinic

    • 3318 N. North Hills Boulevard in Fayetteville

    • Open Monday, March 16th  10am-10pm, 7 days/week

    • Evaluate risk factors and symptoms.

    • Specimens obtained for further testing for those determined to be at risk.

    • Patients will be asked to self-quarantine at home until test results are available.

    • Until the screening center is open on Monday, March 16th at 10:00 am, all screening will be completed at the Washington Regional Urgent Care location located at 3 East Appleby Road, Suite 101.

    • In conjunction with the opening of Washington Regional Coronavirus (COVID-19) Screening Clinic on Monday, March 16, at 10 am, Washington Regional will also activate a Coronavirus (COVID-19) Screening Hotline, staffed by experienced healthcare professionals. This hotline will allow community members to call and complete a coronavirus screening. If it is then determined further evaluation or testing is necessary, the appropriate referrals will be made.

    • Community members can call 479.463.2055 to access the Washington Regional Coronavirus (COVID-19) Screening Hotline, beginning Monday, March 16 at 8 am.

    • The hotline will be open seven days a week from 8 am – 8 pm.

  • Arkansas Children’s Hospital

    • Arkansas Children's is following the Arkansas Department of Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for testing for COVID-19. We are ONLY testing those children who meet the qualifying criteria.

    • Most fever, cough, and cold symptoms can be managed at home with over-the-counter medications like Tylenol, Motrin and oral hydration fluids like Pedialyte. However, we encourage you to bring your child to the Emergency Department if:

      • They are having difficulty breathing

      • They are dehydrated (crying without tears, infrequent urination)

      • They are overly drowsy or hard to wake

    • Fever (a temperature greater than 100.4 degrees) in babies less than 3 months old should prompt you to call your primary care physician or bring your child to the Emergency Department.

    • Call 1-800-743-3616 to speak with an Arkansas Children’s pediatric nurse. Nursing staff will be available for questions and phone screenings 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

    • The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is pleased to announce that UAMS HealthNow, its 24-hour digital connection to healthcare professionals, will soon offer free screenings for all Arkansans who have questions about whether they may have the COVID-19 virus.  UAMS HealthNow site will have a screening tool with a series of questions about their symptoms, age, overall health, travel and other potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus and guide them regarding the next steps, if any.

    • This may include a video session with a UAMS HealthNow provider, advice to contact their local physician for further evaluation and possible testing for the virus.

    • This service will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to patients of all ages across the state of Arkansas and can be accessed from a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer.
